American
Racing is one of the largest manufacturers of custom wheels
for all types of vehicles. They are factory suppliers to General
Motors and Chrysler.
Objective
Redesign the Website to increase brand awareness to consumers while
providing technical information to 16,000+ distributors/dealers
around the globe. The Website also had to be interactive and provide
valuable information to attract repeat visits.
Solutions
Database: The home page displays a vehicle that is pulled from a
database to appeal to wide range of visitors. Major sections of
the site include a dealer locator that displays the dealer closest
to you based on your Zip Code. All data that is collected in forms
or e-mail is stored in a database that can be accessed at a later
date by marketing and sales teams.
Shockwave
Users with a Shockwave plug-in see a marketing advertisement that
describes the broad range of American Racing products. The New Products
section introduction uses Flash animation to entertain visitors
in this area.
Java
The Wheel Match section lets users see what their favorite American
Racing wheels will look like installed on their vehicle. The user
selects his or her vehicle, and only the wheels that fit are displayed.
The user then selects a wheel to instantly see what it looks like
installed.
E-Commerce
The Website currently uses a database to capture information and
allow a vendor to connect via FTP and transfer the database to Microsoft
Merchant for order processing.
